History
The founding date is unknown, but shrine tradition takes Empress Jingu's appointment of Yosami-no-Agohiko-otarumi as chief priest as its founding record. The main hall, in the Sumiyoshi-zukuri style, was built in 1623 by Kuroda Nagamasa and is a National Important Cultural Property. A travel site introduces its good-match benefit together with the sub-shrine Amatsu Shrine, but this could not be confirmed on the official site.
